As someone who spent years obsessed with post-rock, the guitar on Emancipator's new single "Stonewall" felt like going home after a long travel.
I can't say for sure, but the vocal choir used here reminds me of Bulgarian State Television Female Vocal Choir and it certainly adds a feeling of eerie to the composition. A gorgeous blend of downtempo, trip-hop, and post-rock elements.
The song is taken from Douglas' Dusk to Dawn sessions over a decade ago, is set to make its debut in the upcoming Deluxe Anniversary Edition of the album. This certainly stood the test of time as it feels very progressive even today.
