"Ellie: The cover QUEEN" reads one of the comments on this new cover from Ellie Goulding. And it's completely true. Goulding is slowly transforming into the queen of covers. She started with a killer alt-J cover, moved on to her laid back cover of JT's "Mirrors", and is now here with this electro collaboration of James Blake's "Life Round Here". The original track was a killer working between the famed Brit (and Grammy nominated!) James Blake and the up-and-coming rapper Chance The Rapper. Following this pattern, Ellie Goulding chose the wonderfully talented and rising star Angel Haze to hop on and add a verse to the phenomenal rework.
The track itself is not too far off from the original, which is both good and bad. Ellie keeps it somewhat grounded [:(] to showcase the talent of Angel Haze [:)]. The duo's new version "Life Round Here" is just a great one. I can and probably will listen to it all day.
