I can’t deny that my fascination with Elia Tomé comes with a bit of bias. His sound strongly echoes the left-field r&b wave from 2013-2016, reminiscent of artists like James Blake, Jai Paul, and JMSN.

Greek artist Elia Tomé is easily one of my favorite discoveries of 2024. His sound is unpredictable, yet every release guarantees a captivating, immersive, and somewhat challenging listening experience. His latest album Therefore I Am Not perfectly encapsulates this sentiment, with the track "Stay Kids" standing out as one of the brightest gems. The angelic presence of Zoe Cure's vocals beautifully complements Elia's moody delivery as they exhibit their chemistry over bright synths and lively drums.

"The songs on this album capture the process of growing up—a dialogue with myself through memories, dreams and free association. It’s in the electronic elements and dance-like patterns that I found a sense of refuge, but I wanted to pair them with a sense of storytelling. Through this process, I sought to remain true to myself and carve out an honest space for expression.” - Elia Tomé
