I stumbled across this magical tune the other day and had to come out of slumber to share it along. El Búho, aka Robin Perkins, is a UK artist who recently released his debut LP, titled Balance (stream below). The leading single is Corazón de Rubi, featuring Minük, which is a brilliant demonstration of what Robin's directon in sound is and the atmosphere he can create with it. By his own words, he describes his drive as :
a fascination with the natural world, and its protection, a fascination with the rhythms, traditions and sounds of Latin America and a fascination with modern electronic music and production aesthetics.
The track shared here is a fusion nothing short of that description. The rhythm is a gentle composition of organic sounds and flows like a river cutting down a mountain gorge, while Minük's vocals add the magical, hypnotizing touch that teleports you to a place alike.
Give the track a listen and drift away for a few minutes, I think we all need that from time to time in this fast paced, technological world.
I highly recommend checking out the full LP, especially if you like soundscapes similar to Emancipator, Bonobo and the lot. The album is quite diverse and experimental, but follows the organic aesthetic of the track above throughout its entirety.
