That next find was a true gem. I actually spent a good 15 minutes thinking how to start this. It has been a while since I've had a track that I could "approach" from so many angles.
Before anything, let me introduce you our protagonist - DAP The Contract. The Nigeria-born, US-based artist and his track "Some Things Never Change" featuring SHE is nothing but wonderful sound journey. Jazz, soul, instrumental hip hop, sick flow, r&b all that wrapped up with a layer of experimentation. The whole composition is seriously impressive.
I can't put my mind when it comes to where DAP draws influences, but as the track belts out and that 3rd minute kicks in, my whole sound world changed. Besides the flow and the beat, that particular part and its weirdness felt like a milestone in the track. There are a few seconds where I felt "wtf is going on here" and suddenly it all goes quiet for SHE's soothing vocals.
Flawless work!
