Covex's album A Change of Perspective is fueled by emotive depth whilst maintaining a level of grit that offers listeners quite an experimental touch. The track "To Be Alone" is a marvelous example of this and frankly, it's my favorite track from the LP too.
The track greets us with quite an atmospheric intro an in a flash, a two step rhythm creeps up only to erupt in the mix along with the shimmering synths on the 1 minute mark. It's what Covex does with his vocals that continuously has me not only fascinated but inspired too. Its as if they're this emotionally charged instrument that melts together ever so elegantly with the keys and hard-hitting drums. This is quite a minute detail, although I can't neglect to mention the superb granular synthesis throughout the track as that adds to the layers of surprise.
The deluxe rendition of A Change of Perspective recently dropped via Moving Castle, and if you enjoyed "To Be Alone" you're bound to lose yourself in the splendor of the whole project.
