For this week's #postrockSunday, I decided to take you to a slightly different direction than the usual cinematic compositions I tend to share here. It is about time to share with you an extraordinary band, I was introduced to few years back by one of their ex-guitarists. Something for which I'm really grateful as these guys have been on and off my playlist ever since - a bit like a safe harbor when I don't find anything new, energetic which I can relate myself to.
Originating from my favourite American city - Boston, Constants blend together everything around progressive, shoegaze, post-rock and indie. Beautiful and rare combination! Their album The Foundation, The Machine, The Ascension (2009) is a must-hear for any rock fan. Very solid instrumentals which belt out throughout the whole album with its slow (and quite picturesque) parts and explosive build-ups. Add an outstanding and raw vocals and you've got all you need. In my opinion these guys are super underrated, at least in Europe. Just click the play button below and see for yourself!
