My "relationship" with cln goes all the way back to 2015 when I first heard the Brisbane producer.
I've always admire the depth of his sound and the way he utilizes out-of-the-box synths to create really captivating electronic world. His new track "Waiting For You", however, is something different. Despite the watermark sound of cln, the track is quite something different.
While I would rarely go on and talk about romantic stuff here, I have to say - this is one of the most emotional tracks (in a lovable way) I've heard. It makes me feel love in a weird way (like not coming from someone else, just from... life itself). I might regretting putting something so cheesy here, but I think when I say "i love you" to someone the next time in my life, it might be to this song, haha.
"Waiting For You" will be included in cln's upcoming debut full length album. Speaking of the track, the Aussie artist shares...
I was in a musical rut for a little while – making music that wasn’t exciting or challenging. I realised that I was trying way too hard to fit into a certain sound or genre. I decided to go into an experimentation phase and began making music without a particular direction in mind. I mostly just tried to make cool sounds and textures. This song was one of the first to come out of that experimentation period.
"Waiting For You" doesn’t sound much like anything I’ve made before, and I’m quite happy about that. This song features my own voice, as will many songs on the album. Production will always be my primary focus, I don’t necessarily want to pigeonhole myself into singing on every track so I will keep working with vocalists fairly regularly.”
