The music of UK-based producer and hip hop artist Charles Edison first came on my radar in 2018. Inspired by artists like J-Dilla, Tom Misch, and Mike Skinner, I always found his versatility and style truly impressing.
Taken from his upcoming collaborative EP Pastel with KINNOHA, "Love at Midnigh"t is a hazy, jazzy snapshot of a vulnerable moment. KINNOHA is also a familiar face here on the Fox. The electro-soul singer has a distinct DYI kinda vibe and I easily recognized her vocals from the get go.
The artists perfectly describe the moment that inspired writing the song - "that time after a party when everyone has left and you just want someone to be with until the sun comes up" We've all been there. The moment when all the social high suddenly evaporates and you're all alone with your thoughts and whatever is going on in your head. No more distractions.
The release came out yesterday releasing April 22nd and I highly advise you to stream in-full below. A true masterpiece.
