It's been far too long since I've stumbled headlong into a legitimately brilliant indie rock band. Enter Catfish and The Bottlemen. Having properly emerged less than 12 months ago, and releasing only three singles since then, I think I can be forgiven for not picking them up sooner.
New track 'Kathleen' channels the unparalleled volume and rawness of Catfish into a neat package less than three minutes long. Knowing the track was recorded by Jim Abbiss (whose extensive claims to fame include recording Arctic Monkeys' Whatever People Say I Am) comes as no surprise when you consider the distinctive, home-grown rock sound that Catfish unashamedly flaunt. Releasing on April 14th via Communion, 'Kathleen' is the start of a big year for the four boys from Wales.
