The latest release from Catching Shapes and Slimskit "Forget Me Not" is certainly one of my favorite discoveries this week thanks to its mesmerizing blend of electronic and organic textures.
Catching Shapes draws on his extensive background in both visual design and music production to create expansive soundscapes that feel cinematic. In fact, "Forget Me Not" has quite a dramatic progression with an emotive force that heightens and cools down throughout - gripping the attention of the listener from start to finish. The drums are punchy while the glossy synths are complimented by the atmospheric allure of the vocals in breaks and the midsection. Fans of PALLADIAN, Bonobo, and Catching Flies are sure to enjoy this!
