Camel Power Club are probably one of my favourite finds from last year, the indie duo is made up of two very close friends and this definitely shows in their music.
When listening to their track "Oboe" there is an opposition present, not quite a conflict but some sort of transience or unease. You can feel this at the core, with the purposeful beat juxtaposed with the melancholic melody, however, these opposing forces come together in perfect unison. The two vocalists of the song tell the tale of needing to escape, tying the story together in the most effortless and heartfelt way.
For me at least, these kinds of songs, the ones that leave give you a little twinge in your heart, are solely reserved for those melancholic moods, when you need a little getaway from reality.
I can assure you I will be featuring the incredibly talented Camel Power Club again, so keep an eye out for that!
