For those yet to hear of Calundé, he's a 19-year-old from The Netherlands. Yep, you read that right, 19, and already he's creating fantastic music. "Don't Mind That We're Lonely" is the latest track from this talented guy, and is pretty apt for what the world is going through right now.
The song itself is a euphoric indie-pop hit somewhat reminiscent of acts like Tame Impala and Thundercat (minus the stank-face-inducing basslines). It's an incredibly chill bedroom pop track, with vocal melodies that reverberate throughout creating the perfect soundtrack to summer.
I'm also a massive fan of the low-pass filtered drum fills in both the intro and at the climax of the bridge. It brings in that lofi aesthetic we're all totally enamored by right now.
If you're yet to listen to Calundé and are a fan of acts like Tame Impala, Thundercat, Blood Orage, and the like, I'd definitely recommend doing so.
