Wayward's Sapphire Eyes was the first time I ever heard spoken word over Light Drum & Bass / Garage executed ever so elegantly... And now, bxu's latest release "passat" is yet another instance of poetic justice delivered over Light Drum & Bass.
It isn't the individual parts of "passat" that lure you in, it's the overall emotion we're welcomed to in this listening experience. The track sounds cold yet comforting and this is accentuated by those gentle keys along with hushed verses from Ed and Zoe Cain. Throughout the track, the pair reflect on an empty relationship that connects you to someone for all the wrong reasons. And the manner in which this is delivered feels SO relatable.
