Not sure how I missed this groovy goodness back when it was released, but I'm catching up now. There is not a whole lot out there about BOYBOY - apparently he is from New Zealand, living in LA now and keeping low profile.
"Daylight" is so damn catchy and danceable, with its awesome bass line and sharp production. I'm having hard times categorizing this into any genres (probably indie-pop would be the closest), but whatever it is, it sounds awesome.
"It’s about living in a big city and feeling the social pressure to hustle, realizing that self-focus is more beneficial," BOYBOY explains. "I think of releasing full-lengths like a painter putting on an exhibition. At the moment I’m just focusing on individual works."
