Bonobo's been quiet since August last year, when he last dropped a new single, "Expander".
But apparently, the UK producer hasn't been lying on a beach but crafting an OST of Lazarus (an Adult Swim animated series). The greatest thing is, it's not just one song but a 15-piece album that takes us out of this world, in his signature ethereal, yet driving manner.
"New Prophets" is one of the tunes that made an impression on me - with the spacey synths & the intricate production, but the full record is absolutely outstanding (including the focus "Dark Will Fall" with Jacob Lusk).
Bonobo's album is just a part of the new Lazarus soundtrack - there are also albums by Kamasi Washington & Floating Points you should absolutely listen to, as well.
