Woke up to a few messages asking whether I've heard the new Bon Iver track... so while a bit late to the 'big news', I couldn't miss sharing this beauty.
At this point, after so many years I know Bon Iver will not disappoint me. I still consider seeing them live (despite on a festival) as one of the highlights in my live music experience.
When it comes to "Hey, Ma", the best way to describe this is... music to listen in the dark. Emotional, captivating & spacious.
The track is out via US Jagjaguwar, but I am not sure whether that's the first step towards a successor of 22, A Million (2016). By the way, "Hey, Ma" wasn't the only song the guys released.
If you are looking for something more cheerful / gospel-like, there's always "U (Man Like)". This is definitely music to celebrate life to. I absolutely love how different the 2 tracks are.
I also found this quote from tracks' press release and I found it interesting.
This project began with a single person, but throughout the last 11 years, the identity of Bon Iver has bloomed and can only be defined by the faces in the ever growing family we are.
