Here the instrumental is not only incredibly soulful, but it's also plain enough for us to focus on the lyricism. Throughout his verses, Bobby takes us through the struggles he and his family faced during his childhood - it's essentially quite a sad song about his parent's divorce and how this impacted the person he became.
