I was about to shut my laptop and get ready for a holiday, but this new gem fell in my inbox thanks to our mates at Kommerz and I felt I should leave you in some good boogie r&b company for the weekend.

And yes, boogie R&B is a term used by Bluestaeb to describe his brand-new single "Yours" and I couldn't agree more.

Well known on our website (15 features and counting), Bluestaeb is a modern-day funk enthusiast whose sound is inspired by legends like Prince, and J. Dilla, but it carries a Kaytranada-like energy that's perfect to

"Yours" and the accompanying "If We Had Both" are songs cooked following his well-known recipe by fusing boogie and funk rhythms with R&B. He bridges diverse sound worlds, a pursuit highlighted in his 2021 album GISEKE (a must-hear if you haven't). The whole sound evokes a nostalgic vibe inspired by Sade's timeless production. So yeah, time for some boogie R&B!
