If you haven't fallen in love with Bicep yet, now's a good time to do it.
Thanks to Ivo (and particularly his feature of "Siena"), I've been extremely hooked on their mind-bending, high-energy electronica. And the chemistry they have with Clara La San is just... wow.
"Water" is their newest pearl (pun intended) they just released on Ninja Tune, together with the b-side cut "Waterfall" (actually an earlier version of "Waterfall") and "Apricots" & "Glue" which you already know well.
There's also a cool fact that Bicep share: “There was no outright idea when we started, but the original ‘Waterfall’ was born out of experimentation with an instrument called the MEGAfm. It’s a new synth but has chips inside which formed the sounds of the SEGA Megadrive/Genesis games consoles. Weirdly it got more computer game sounding when we developed it into ‘Water’, speeding up and slowing down the lead line and LFOs to give that classic low-bit sound effect."
Expect nothing short of captivating synth melodies, warm vocals, and beatwork that will help you transcend to another dimension. The visual definitely helps, too:
