There is something about the drums on "Empty Spaces" that are awkward and honestly... That is exactly why I was so drawn to the rhythm section.
The make-shift percussion paired with the delayed swing presents the track with a distinct groove, and this is beautifully complemented by comforting keys and guitars. However, it's the emotive croons of the vocals that have "Empty Spaces" exuding so much soul, to the point where they're quite reminiscent of singer and songwriter Wayne Snow actually.
The world is an empty space to be filled with everyones creations. Our beats are empty spaces for artists to fill with their story. We've been sitting on this music for so long, it's time to let it find a space to fill and let our minds become empty spaces again.
