I'm admittedly a bit late to the party on this one, but couldn't resist showcasing this funky tune by Greek musician Basement Freaks. This track emulates an early style of Funk brought to the forefront by the infamous band Parliament.

As I scour Soundcloud and beyond to back in time and diligently study the evolution of Funk, I am getting a bit of a lesson through Basement Freaks "Talkin' About Dat". We just premiered his track "Let It Be You", which showcases an entirely different style.

This song incorporates a full soundscape of  the "P-Funk" flavor -- a style encoded into music by the 70s Funk band Parliament. The vocoder, chorus, synths and ultra-smooth bass lines resurrect a timeless style in the modern musical landscape. Plus, this is a bit of an ode to The Funk, which is to be appreciated.
