November inevitably brings some melancholy, with its falling leaves & misty landscapes.

The US duo Banyan have brought us something utterly beautiful that carries both the nostalgia/woe of autumn & the driving energy that will help us move forward towards winter & spring. "Lavender" (which is a summer-blooming flower) is a downtempo electronica gem you can't get enough of.

Featuring UK singer/songwriter Afnan Prince, the song blends electronic influences - progressive house/breakbeat rhythm & pulsating synths, with a touch of indie folk in the vocals. It revolves around the theme of "surrender and letting go when life asks us to" - which might feel sad but sometimes necessary.
