Featuring the music of Balmorhea was an absolute no brainer and I hope that after you listen to the track yourself, we would be on the same page about that. Anyhow, I was introduced to them a few years back by my younger sister - a clear sign I did well while she was growing up! Their music is pretty unconventional and besides the traditional instruments, it incorporates violin, cello and a double bass!
"Pyrakantha" is a lashing composition that starts with an eerie post-rock intro, which throughout the track blossoms into this positive and full of life indie/folky melody. It's amazing how in the time span of a song, the band captivates two nearly polar vibes!
