I've always been impressed by artists who manage to create very different artistic personas and impress the audience with each one of them. The best example for this is my fellow countryman Ivan Shopov AKA Balkansky / Cooh / Drumkid! Besides that he's founder of the independent label ABCD.

I firstly featured his music back when we started Stereofox by sharing his amazing and really subtle Sia bootleg and since it's been long enough since we mentioned anything about him, it's about time to fix that error.

Today under our radar is his ethno-based tune called "Rada" and if you ever wondered about the mystical sounds of Bulgaria's mountains... that's a perfect first step into that world. Besides Shopov, the Balkansky project includes Theodosii Spassove (kaval, trumpet & voice) and Ivo Christov (arrangements).

If you happen to be in Sofia this weekend, mr. Shopov will be presenting his four musical projects in collaboration with our friends from EventEase. The nearly 7-hours set will blend anything from beautiful ethno-inspired sounds, experimental, dubstep, drum & bass and techno music. More info on the event can be found here!
