Invisible Cloud Orchestra have never met (Invisible), collaborate solely online (Cloud) and make music which features a wide range of acoustic and electronic instruments (Orchestra). The duo live at different ends of the UK, finding each other through independent contributions to projects online and connecting over a shared love of beatmaking and sampling.
Their output broadly sits within the instrumental beats genres (including Lo-fi, Chillhop and Jazzhop), but takes inspiration from almost every style and culture in music. Artists that are particular influences include: Pete Rock, DJ Premier, goosetaf, Cloudchord, Prince Paul, jhfly, Flying Lotus, Jazzinuf, J Dilla, Psalm Trees, DJ Shadow and Prefuse 73. Common themes in their sonic identity are extensive sample manipulation, and the rich texture and depth achieved by combining electronic and acoustic sounds in a mix together.
