One of the newest rising stars in electronic music today is Connor Drazil, a DJ/Producer from Seattle, better known by his alias Faraday. With hopes to inspire people with his creations, Faraday has managed to carve out a niche of his own with each new release. Faraday’s unique ability to bridge the gap between dance music genres and his eclectic taste for house, trance, and disco set him apart from other producers in a way that compounds upon his greatest inspirations like Mat Zo, Eric Prydz, and Avicii.
A great deal of Faraday’s recent success comes from a string of musical endeavors that date all the way back to his adolescent years. After learning how to play the drums at age 5, he eventually started teaching himself music production in 2010 by downloading FL Studio 9. Still using FL Studio as his DAW of choice today, Faraday has gone from bedroom producer to globally recognized musician and it's clear his early experiments help him innovate as time moves on.
Faraday first gained attention back in 2015 when he was signed to progressive house label ‘Adrenalin Room’ alongside artists like SNR (now part of Elevven), Emerge, Adrian Alexander, and Vintage & Morelli. Around this same time, Faraday made his first club appearances in Seattle and quickly became a resident DJ for one of the Top 100 Nightclubs in the world (rated #61 by DJ Magazine in 2018) from 2016-2018.
To date Faraday has performed at some of West Coasts’ most notable venues like The Gorge Amphitheater, WaMu Expo Center, Seattle Center (Bumbershoot), and Q Nightclub. Faraday’s long tenure in the Seattle area has also earned him support on several of his own favorite artist’s tours such as Mat Zo, Seven Lions, Feed Me, Madeon, Fehrplay, K?d, No Mana, Galantis, and many more.
An especially iconic time for Faraday’s career was this past year. Starting off 2020 with his acclaimed ‘Voyager EP’, which reached 100k+ streams, Faraday was then signed to Ferry Corsten’s legendary imprint Flashover Records and released his hit single, ‘Gold Chariot’. This release marked the accomplishment of a long-time dream for Faraday when it debuted on Armin Van Buuren’s ‘A State of Trance’ Episode 977 and was supported by dance music giants like Dash Berlin and Martin Garrix.
With 2021 having just arrived and Faraday coming off his biggest year yet, it’s safe to say the world is ready to see what new music he has in his vault.
