Friends for 14 years, Lam (vocals and guitar) and Mitchell (guitar and keyboards), who met while studying jazz at Monash University in Melbourne and discovered a shared love of electronic music, formed Armlock after various electronic and dance projects (I’lls, Couture, Kllo), naturally incorporating guitar into their music for the first time due to their camaraderie and collaborative comfort.
