When I first got an e-mail about the new Russian-born singer Shura I was terrified as I thought that the world has gone nuts and multiple people are sending me e-mails about a Russian singer back from the 90's. Not sure if you guys are familiar with the 90's Russian music (I honestly hope you are not), but it's scary, trust me.
However, turned out that Shura is a new talent hailing from London, but with a Russian origin (her mother was a Russian actress who turned down a role in "Goldeneye", believing James Bond to be anti-Russian).
"Touch" is her first single and judging from it Shura has a very promising future. It's a breakup song and has a bit of an old-school feel, which is understandable as she is drawing inspiration from early Madonna and Janet Jackson. She also works as a video editor and you can watch the results of her work below. The "Touch" video is as sensual and affectionate as the song itself starring a bunch of Shura's friends. Smooth R&B beats and fascinating velvet vocal make up for one of the best R&B tracks I've heard in a while.
