It has been a while since Shigeto has released any music, so the news of his new single & album release date made my day. The release will be titled The New Monday and it scheduled for October 6th.
When it comes to the album, Shigeto shares:
It's focused on a couple things and they all kind of come together to represent different things. My time back in Detroit, back living in Michigan and spending time with a lot of kind of original people who have always been here, learning from them, hearing stories from them, being influenced by them, and inspired by them.
In these past couple of months/years Zach has been busy starting his own label Portage Garage Sounds along with his brother. However, it's good to see the Ghostly artist continues to grow and change musically. "Detroit Part II" is pretty damn good evidence for this. The tune is quite different from his earlier stuff, a lot more minimal and definitely skews into the tech/house area.
