I was dragged to a Local Natives concert last summer at Bonnaroo music festival by my friend Elise. She said I would love them. I had never heard of them and I was skeptical. But as I took in their first few songs and soaked up their melancholic harmonies, I was actually moved to tears. (It doesn't happen often, I swear! Don't judge!) Something about their sound - sometimes dark or wistful, sometimes hopeful and bright, and sometimes urgent - has the ability to impact deeply, and I haven't stopped listening to them since first hearing them last June.

Our photographer Jamie Massieu had the awesome opportunity to check out their concert in Madrid, Spain back in November. By the looks of it they are still putting out incredible vibes and having fun while doing it!

Give "Wooly Mammoth" a listen, from their 2013 album Hummingbird - it is a beautiful example of Local Natives' creative and honest music.
