Washington, D.C. music scene mainstay guitarist, composer, and loops experimenter Anthony Pirog, whom you may know as a member of the Messthetics along with ex-Fugazi members Joe Lally and Brendan Canty, just released his brand new album titled Nepenthe Series Vol. 1 through Otherly Love Records. Featuring an impressive lineup of collaborations including Red Hot Chili Peppers’ John Frusciante, the Police’s Andy Summers, and Wilco’s Nels Cline, among others. With the album's lead single "Ripples Of Light" featuring Cline, Pirog gives us a taste of his diverse musical stylings.
Among the intricate array of musical textures, is the hauntingly beautiful solo track "Bernal Heights". With its dreamy soundscapes, ethereal synths, and captivating guitar ambience the track emerges as a standout, reflecting Pirog's creative depth and skillful execution. Evoking the spirit of William Basinski, the song's ambient drift sets the perfect mood for the upcoming Fall season, capturing the essence of transition and reflection.
