How would Herbie Hancock sound in the 21st century? Anomalie decided to answer with an electrifying reimagination of "Come Running To Me".
The Canadian producer and multi-instrumentalist announced his forthcoming album Galerie, due in April via Nettwerk Records, and this track is part of it, together with "Bond" and "Dribble" which we featured last year. Anomalie elaborated:
Herbie Hancock is one of my biggest inspirations and I was completely mind blown the first time I listened to his album Sunlight - his use of the vocoder and synths within the context of his rich arrangements were revolutionary. I started arranging my version of “Come Running to Me” last year just for fun, dropped a snippet on social media and have had people asking for a full version since then so it made sense to have it on the album. Also, if it weren’t for Herbie, I probably wouldn’t even have started Anomalie so having this be a part of the Galerie project feels very full circle.
The track is accompanied by a stunning studio-performance video which will blow your mind.
