Now this is a name I was excited to see pop up in my Soundcloud feed!
Most of you probably know Anna Wise as a frequent collaborator of Kendrick Lamar, on a number of tracks from his past two albums. To name a few - "Real", "These Walls", "Institutionalised" and backvocals on the hook for "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe". Or perhaps you know her as one half of the band Sonnymoon, together with Dane Orr. Whatever the case, you should know that she is a highly regarded musician who works with a special bubble of artists. Her soft vocals and artistic feel are cherished elements for any project.
Anna Wise has now decided to appear on the music field with a debut single called "Precious Possession" (hopefully from an upcoming full project!). I really loved the production on this one - the beat is simple but well designed to fit Anna's vocal lead. The backvocals that she has layered are also perfect in creating a chill, sensual atmosphere.
I found it quite interesting to finally hear her solo work and will be listening to this late-night jam for a while. Enjoy !
