It's almost as if "purple" was created in the midst of a hunger strike as we can literally hear the hunger in Amplified's voice as details the trials and tribulations he's faced to pursue his passion.
The line "pushing these vocals till my throat purple" not only punctuates his drive through his knack for vivid imagery through his lyricism. Melodically "purple" is also quite skeletal which provides all the more room for us to take in the hard bars. Towards the end, we're acquainted with a twist as the vibe completely changes, and Amplified exhibits the more soulful side of his abilities too.
