Amparo took my breath away ever since I heard her track "Ruby" earlier this year. The Norwegian guitarist & producer has so much warmth injected in her tracks it's sometimes overwhelming.
Everything sounds intimate, somehow nostalgic and very, very personal. I fell in love with her sound pretty much from the second I encountered her SoundCloud profile.
Her new track "We Look Good Side By Side" makes me feel... you know, as time is passing by and I grow older, I tend to tell myself it's somehow not that okay to be emotional about stuff. That you need to be mature and not share silly things that tend to make you sad or not okay because... well, grown ups need to have things figured out. Well, that music makes me feel 16 again. Those days and nights in my room day dreaming and mellowing just about anything. There's something romantically nostalgic about those memories and I love the fact that those guitar chords can make me feel this way.
Another plus is that "We Look Good Side By Side" is inspired by Minus The Bear's "Absinthe Party at the Fly Honey Warehouse". The band recently announced their breakup after many years and that track is Lela's homage to their art.
