Can't believe it's been 10 months since we dropped the debut release of Alexander IV.
"Don't Walk Away" was the first-ever song by the new chillhop moniker of Joris Feiertag, an established electronic producer & the drummer of Kraak & Smaak who wanted to express his love for soul & hip hop sampling. After 2 more beauties, today's the day when the full Signs EP dropped.
The title track is right on the verge of chill & groovy and is drenched in jazzy keys, bright trumpets & soulful samples, all mixed up to get the fines of instrumental hip hop.
As Joris shares, “The Signs EP contains the first couple of tracks I produced as Alexander IV. It’s inspired by a lot of nu-jazz and hip hop artists of today, like for example Edapollo and Moods, combined with my older love for artists such as Kruder & Dorfmeister. I tried to combine my love for hip hop drums with timeless vocal samples to give it a unique character. Most of the vocals samples come from friends like singer/songwriters Noah Avery and Leonard Luka.”
