Alexander Flood is an Australian drummer and multi-instrumentalist whose music will send you to the deepest grounds of contemporary / alt-jazz music.
The artist is prepping for his upcoming LP Oscillate via our mates at Jakarta Records and as someone who had a glimpse of the record let me tell you - we're in for a treat. The album drops on May 12th, but you can already pre-order the vinyl on the label's Bandcamp page.
Today's spotlight - "Deja Vu", feels like the creative child of Flying Lotus, Portico Quartet, and BADBADNOTGOOD. Legends in their own lanes. The 6-minute long track offers a wonderful build-up and insane power dynamics showcasing Alexander's versatile drumming style and the ability to experiment with emotions. The only way to describe the track is improvisation.
