Alchemorph is an artist I hadn't heard of before receiving this track in my DMs, but I'm glad to be educated now. The penultimate track from the Manchester-based producer's Stargazing LP, "The Morning Comes" is a bright, refreshing take on the often dark future garage sound.
A soft piano welcomes the track in, accompanied by an echoed vocal that bounces around the melody, harmonising the chords beneath. This vocal utilises a ping pong delay extremely effectively to help bring a sense of width and space to the track, making it far more dynamic than it otherwise would have been.
The sense of space is a theme that continues throughout the track, being emphasised by the tight, wide drum pattern that eventually joins the melodic foundation. This pattern is layered with a highly percussive arp that acts beautifully as a melodic element while also doubling up as a rhythm-carrying element. Allowing the melody to sink seamlessly into the drums, the percussive nature of the arp gives them a unique timbre that sets the track apart from genericism.
