So, the new Thundercat album has been on our waiting list for quite some time. I reckon Georgi and Colin are already all over it, as they were the people who got me into the Brainfeeder artist.
I guess it won't be very surprising if I say that the record goes beyond expectations. Hell, it's one of the most interesting albums I've heard this year. Thundercat is breathing music.
Drunk features some pretty awesome collaborations and the list of Thundercat friends is quite spectacular - Flying Lotus, Kendrick Lamar, Kamasi Washington, Pharrell, Wiz Khalifa, Kenny Loggins and Michael McDonald. After reading this you know you're in for a good time.
The album consist of 23 rather short/bit-size tracks / sound compositions and it does feel like a journey. Of course I was already in love with "Bus In These Steets", but I have to say "Jethro" is catching up super quick.
The nostalgic feeling of the album is the perfect soundtrack to those times when you just wanna be with yourself. Kinda like a date. Does this make sense? Oh, nvm - enjoy!
Stay up to date.
