I have recently been a bit MIA in the Australian music scene, but thankfully there are friends who are keeping an eye on that for me (I'm looking at you Lien).
Hanna Shepherd aka Airling has definitely had a good year: a couple of well-received singles, supported Asgeir on his Australian tour and took part in Triple J Unearthed Splendour In The Grass competition. On top of that she released a debut Love Gracefully EP. Sounds like a pretty damn good year to me.
"Wasted Pilots" is one of the singles off that EP and it is something that will make you turn your attention to Airling. It's a pretty simple song with catchy synths and a certain melancholic touch, but oh so good! Airling's breathy vocals match the melody and the feel of the track perfectly.
Airling is definitely a very strong artist and I'm looking forward to her new releases.
