I was today years old when I discovered the wonderful world of Acopia.
My pick for the day - "Chances" is the title track of the trio's debut album which was released on the 7th of March last year via Australian label Companion.
Acopia is a collaboration between Kate Durman (Purient), Lachlan McGeehan (Liluzu), and Morgan Wright. The whole album is a dreamy, emotional exploration of personal experiences, featuring themes of heartbreak, new love, and self-discovery.
Genre-wise it is a blend of indietronica, dark pop, and indie and I believe "Chances" is a great first dip into their music. It delivers a message of hope while carrying a rather dark vibe around. I found myself listening to it on repeat as I feel it provides an escape from the daily grayness through its sonic landscape.
It has been a while since I've felt so surrendered to the music. So captivating!
