Akin to a sea of deep ambient and groovy sounds itself, the track "Lonely Patrol" by Abstrakt Sonance is the perfect way to well... dive into the topic of the sea.
Inspired by a book from Ian Urbina called "The Outlaw Ocean", the track deals with the lawlessness in the seas around the world. In fact, every song or musical release of some sort in that project tackles this issue in an effort to raise awareness while creating gorgeous music in the process.
"Аfter only a few nights of reading Ian’s book and watching the reporting videos, everything started to shape together and I constructed a whole storyboard that inspired three songs. Through these tracks, I wanted to construct a journey through The Outlaw Ocean. It starts off with "Lonely Patrol" setting sail into the unknown sea - you know there’s peril ahead but you also have a glimpse of hope and courage. Working on this project truly changed my perspective of the ocean."
Opening up with distant waves and seagulls, the track builds up into a rhythmical melancholic journey. Dark, yet playful melodies and varied percussion lead you through deep sub-bass, making the soundscape of the track extremely nuanced.
