Despite not being my most favourite post-rock band, This Will Destroy You's Young Mountain (2006) has been, is and will be the most compound, emotionally pushing and captivating post-rock records I've heard of.
"Grandfather Clock" is the shortest and most electronic element of the EP. That, however, means nothing. They say music is the sound wave of one's soul, and that feels like pretty breathtaking one. If you have the chance, seriously don't miss out on this EP!
The best art forms, sounds being one of them, make the world a little bit less terrifying. Music makes things feel a little more intertwined. It somehow help us do that so-needed leap our of reality and into some another dimension where we can truly look at things from another perspective, see little bits and pieces of whats truly important in our lives. Find solitude with our thoughts and maybe discover pieces of the puzzle we all are.
If anything, TWDY's music is a good two-way ticket to this place.
