I hold this very strong opinion that some songs should not be covered, ever. Like it's classic and why would you lay your hands on something classic and have a high chance of ruining it? But sometimes artists do their magic and just re-do the track completely: it's still recognizable, but definitely not a track you used to know.
This is exactly what Malmö-based The Land Below did with Eagle Eye Cherry's "Save Tonight". You remember that track from all the school dances and the one that gives you some sort of nostalgic feeling? That one. I have actually realized that I know the lyrics by heart, it's just one of those jams.
The Swedish producer gave it a dream-poppy spin and a haunting melody. The track becomes slow and dreamy, with an interesting build up. What do you think of this take on the classics?
