This is the track that first introduced me to Chicago-native hiphop artist ProbCause and, while it is just about two years old, it's still adding color to the summer vibe canvas. I get a sense of "phat waviness" from this track -- basically easy-going lyrics intertwined with fresh overtones packaging it into a saucy summer jam.
I am especially stoked on this track being that it is produced by experimental funk and space magicians, Exmag. These guys hooked me with their first release Proportions off of Lowtemp. Both ProbCause and Exmag are rolling with the Lowtemp Music record label and both of them recently released some magical material: Drifters by ProbCause and Plants and Animals by Exmag & Branx.
In an album review of Epigram by Gramatik, I covered the collaboration known as Probmatik. This ProbCause dude has some amazing rhythmical flow and realness in his lyrical approach. It gives me a big smile to see artists like him collaborating with Gramatik, Exmag, GRiZ, and the Geek x VRV, for example.
