Today is a special day for everyone who loves instrumental music and hip hop, so me and Georgi decided to pay our respects to 2 of the greatest producers to have been alive - Nujabes & J Dilla. Read his feature of Dilla here.
Why today? Because both of them were born on 7th of Feb and would have been 42 years old now. Both of these guys have left an insanely beautiful legacy and have inspired so many of the producers we all admire nowadays. It's just beyond . RIP.
My pick for today's memory of their legacy is Nujabes' (Jun Seba - his moniker is anagram of the letters of his name) classic tune "Aruarian Dance" which I'm sure most of you have heard one way or another. The track has been my calming down soundtrack for years now and it has an absolutely gentle and smooth vibe, which will make you feel... floating. Absolutely eclectic. So much respect for this guy, if you have a chance - dig into his work, you will be happy.
Below is the sample which he covered and which inspired him to create the song "Aruarian Dance".
By the way song's origin date back to 1899 in France. How mind-blowing is that?
Happy birthday and RIP, Jun. Thank you for your music, it will shine light for generations ahead.
