It's been almost a year since we were first unwittingly snagged by the captivating sounds of California's Michl. I still remember exactly (to the spot) where I first heard debut track "Kill Our Way To Heaven" and I can count on one hand the number of tracks that have made such an instant impression.
Well 12 months on and we finally have our hands on his self-titled debut EP and having recently (& lovingly) seen Anohni pick up a much coveted Mercury nomination, I can honestly say Michl is on an equal footing in terms of uniqueness, individuality and well just sheer impact.
I've chosen to introduce Michl via one of the latest tracks "Gone" but please just check out the full EP - Kill Our Way To Heaven still gives me chills, newest release "Broken Roots" is simply stunning (& probably the most accessible) - you get the idea.
