I met Lay after featuring her band {Si}monami a few months ago and I was pleasantly surprised by her (I think bedroom recorded) acoustic sessions and the purity of her voice. The band itself is an absolute must-hear from Brazil, but today I wanted to share one of her personal tunes which really moved me.
I reached to Lay before doing this feature and asked her one simple question. I hope you grasp a bit of her great personality and talent.
For me music is an escape, a way to transform my pain into something less painful. It also works as a timeline, because every song reminds me of a moment, of how I was when I wrote or sang, reminds me of how I acted and thought at the time I wrote.
I have a hard time saying something better other than this girl is a pure gem and I absolutely adore what she does.
