There is a special type of producers who can craft a really vivid instrumental soundscape and Freddie Joachim is one of my favourites from those.
Just today, the Mellow Orange co-founder, released this his track, titled "Midnight Trains", which on first listen reminded me a lot of Bonobo's early sounds from Days To Come. The flute recordings on this track, together with the fast-paced beat create a solid groove, which just sends you daydreaming on a journey somewhere in the middle of South America, or perhaps through the chaotic, but in order, streets of NY. Whatever the case, Freddie really brings his best to the table with this one. Do the experiment of putting this on during any mundane activity you might be doing, like washing the dishes or hanging the laundry and let your mind chill and appreciate even those.
Enjoy the listen and do check out more of the Mellow Orange guys - a really soulful collective!
